Remodeling Your Bathroom - Do You Choose A Shower Or A Bathtub By Alan Dunne

Splash out on a bath tub or dip your toe in the water with a shower (or should it be the other way around?)

Beginning any type of home enhancements can add value to your property. We all know that many people are not purchasing homes in the present climate, but are instead doing home improvements to add value to their property. Many people are choosing to upgrade their bathrooms as they see this as a way to add more value. One of the areas that you might want to consider is do you install a shower or bathtub.

In this fast-paced world that we live in it is probably the modern trends to have a shower as it is quick, easy, and efficient and a very good economical alternative compared to opting for a bathtub. There are many practical reasons why you would install a shower.

Many people see a shower as a nice way to de-stress from the day-to-day pressures of life the soothing effect of the water pressure that massages our bodies can feel very beneficial. Another fact is that many homes are smaller and may have limited space. It may also be the fact that in order to incorporate a bathtub in the home will require unnecessary expansion for the installation.

For me relaxing in a bath tub with warm bubble bath after them hard week in the office is something that simply cannot be replaced. The feeling as you de-stress and then just sit back and relax and close your eyes is simply amazing. You get a very therapeutic effect which I'm not sure if this can be replaced with a shower.

I suppose this is down to personal choice, if you are lucky to have a big bathroom you can of course include both of these which gives you the best of both worlds. Many people choose to install a bath tub and incorporate a shower unit with this  all depending on their mood they can choose which they wish to have.

Think about the value of your home when you come to sell it

It also really comes down to costs and how much of a budget you have. It also comes down to the amount of space that you have available to upgrade your bathroom.

Bath tubs can be expensive and cost as much as $2500, you also need to consider any extra costs that you may incur during renovation and the other utilities that need to be installed. If you have to make some necessary expansion to your bathroom to incorporate a bath tub this is also an expense that you need to be well aware of.

Given at some stage in the future you plan to sell your home you need to make sure whatever decision you make as value to your home and is not a decision that could incur problems in the future. As long as the results help to boost your home's market value this is the most important thing.
