The kids are so excited that you finally got them a bunk bed. It is all set up and looks beautiful in the bedroom. The kids sleep in it one night and the room looks a mess. The sheets are pulled out from under the mattress and the comforter has fallen on the floor. You attempt to make the bed up but it is a job. Why can’t your bunk bed look like all those beautiful pictures of bunk beds? You wonder if this bed was really a good choice. Well, don’t despair. With a few changes in your bedding, this bed can look as good as any other bed in the house and be easy to make too.The first thing that can help keep the bed tidy is the proper type of sheet. You need sheets that are called attached sheets. The fitted sheet and the straight sheet are attached at the foot or on the side. When they are attached at the side, all you have to do is pull the top sheet across the fitted sheet and it’s done. This keeps the top sheet on the bed during the night. These sheets are available in a variety of colors and styles to suit every taste.
With the sheets fitting nicely, you might want a nice comforter on top. A regular comforter, bedspread or blanket will come off easily. They make a comforter for bunk beds called a bunk bed cap. It is also known as a bunkie, hugger or snuggler. The bottom is fitted so it stays in place during the night and makes up nicely during the day. These special comforters are not just for bunk beds. They work well on twin or full beds, trundle beds or any bed with a footboard.
Futon bunk beds are another bed where choice of bedding needs to be right in order to keep them looking tidy. Futons need a gripper under the mattress so it doesn’t slide when it is in the couch position. There are also futon covers that look just like a couch with colorful upholstery and designs. They may come in faux leather, faux suede, denim, and even genuine leather. These make a great alternative to a couch for small apartments or dorm rooms with the sleeping area right above.
Consider all the available options in bedding for bunk beds and futon bunk beds. It isn’t a necessity but it does make owning one of these beds more pleasant. You can have a smart, space saving bed that looks nice too.
